May Day…May Day …

When the Indian Navy proudly announced that they had been engaged in a firefight with a Somali pirate mother ship, and sunk it I was like Wow, awesome.

Suddenly my respect for the Indian Navy went right  to the top of the chart.

But days later, its version of the battle with the Somali pirates was disputed by the ship owners who said it was merely a defenseless fishing boat.

My respect for the Indian Navy, you guessed it, slid right to the bottom.

Ditto for the Indian homeland security, particularly in Mumbai.

I had said elsewhere that the Indian authorities just know how to talk.

To be fair, the jury is still out on whose version to believe. But I think the Indian Navy scored an own goal.
