AFF Suzuki Cup – Singapore with its imported talent draw with Vietnam in 1st Semi

Cheered on by their fanatical fans, the Vietnamese played a fast and furious game. Time and again they breached the Singapore defence (composed largely of imported talent) but were let down by their woeful finishing.

The Vietnamese fought for every ball as though it was a cup final.

Their fans had a fright when Singapore scored but TV replay showed it was an off-side goal. The usually composed Singapore coach saw it fit to argue with the linesman!

Result: goalless draw.

  1. Hehe, sir. We were very lucky to escape with a goal less draw. The Vietnamese were attacking us all night long, It was only after 80 over minutes, their stamina seem to dip a little. It was pretty scary when there were several scuffle and the offside incidence. It was an own goal but he was unfortunate to be in the offside position. =D

  2. A demoralized Viet side will lose when they come over here.

  3. The New Paper calls it a lucky escape for the Singapore team. How true!
