European Cup second-leg, Bar vs Che

Frankly, the European Cup second- leg between Barcelona and Chelsea was a ho-hum affair.

Chelsea, as in the first-leg, was more content with defending  than playing attractive attacking football, parking themselves in their half for much of the time and depending on breakaways to attack Barcelona.

Actually, I’m glad Barcelona won. It’d be boring to have another consecutive final between EPL teams.

Apart from Chelsea’s defensive strategy, what struck me was the ease with which a man-mountain like Drogba fell down as though whacked by a bulldozer, and his ensuing theatrical performance by writhing  in pain. A performance surely worthy of an Oscar. UEFA should seriously such an award for best deceit, simulation and pretense.

The prospect of two attacking teams in the Final in Rome is mouth-watering.

I can’t wait.
