Singtel’s EPL truimph over Starhub

Singaporeans are still fuming over Singtel’s EPL truimph over incumbent Starhub.

Singtel has said it’ll keep prices competitive. They always say such things at the beginning, don’t they. I can bet you as time passes and people’s memory dim, Singtel will surely think of excuses to increase its charges for its sports channels.

Businesses exist purely to make profits. If they can get away with it without breaching any law, why not?

It’s all a question of supply and demand as far as businesses are concerned. If the demand is there they”ll find an excuse to up prices. Singtel increased charges for its land lines, SPH its newspapers’ prices, LTA its ERP on the CTE etc.

If consumers say they can’t do without this and that, then be prepared to pay through your noses. They must watch football, then fork out whatever Singtel demands next time.

All good things must come to an end. I can do without football. Once my contract with Starhub ends next year, no way I’m going to sign up with Singtel.

Enough is enough.

  1. SingTel, SingTel
    Hope you deliver
    Roger’s football
    Just as well,
    Well, well, well,
    Never can tell.

  2. All good things must come to an end. I think I’m spending an inordinate amount of time watching soccer anyway.
