SPF, harness your resources properly

Four police patrol cars turned up at a secondary school after an irate mother called in the cops yesterday morning according to the  state-controlled daily The Straits Times today.

She wanted to file a report against the principal for allegedly slapping her daughter in May this year.

This is the same girl who allegedly kicked her teacher earlier this year.

Discerning readers would not have missed the absurdity of FOUR police cars responding to the complaint as if a major crime situation was unfolding!

This is something that has baffled me for a long time.

On one occasion in Woodlands a car caught fire and I saw a few police cars in attendance.

This is ridiculous. Why the overkill in manpower  to deal with a minor matter? It’d be understandable if a gunman were on the rampage or something.

Where’s the coordination by HQ?

To my mind, this is a waste of resources which could be channeled elsewhere to combat crime and militants.

  1. SPF needs some re-vamping.

    • Can’t agree with you more. Whats a police force for if it can’t protect your kids, wives, grandparents and even yourself? It can’t simply go on auto pilot and hope for the best! Very disappointing! Over time respect for SPF will erode if it has not already happened. Speaking for myself, my respect for SPF has plunged. I don’t know about you.
